Uniting Not Dividing
date: 02-19-2012
by: Bob Adams,
I wish to speak to those who feel as if their voice doesn't matter anymore. Those who believe that their freedom is in jeopardy, their values are under attack and that no one is listening. Not, those who believe that our best days are behind us and that the only answer comes from Washington, but those who still believe in the dream given to us by the same one who gave us our unalienable rights.
Right now there is a great feeling of dissatisfaction with the way things are. That our country is in decline and that we are isolated. Well nothing could be farther from the truth. I speak to those who call themselves; Conservative Party, Libertarian Party, Tea Party, Common Sense Party, Republican Party and a host of other categories. These groups are here mostly built around the fact that our Founders were correct. "They govern best who govern least". Those who believe that protecting our right to be free men and women, able to live our lives according to our conscience is far better than a monarchy.
I speak to those of us who believe that our government is overly large, takes too many of our constitutional liberties for granted, and takes far too much of the fruit of our labors for very little return. You are those that believe an entrenched bureaucracy does more harm to our country than any terrorist organization ever has. You see that the true war we are fighting in this country right now is not overseas, but in the hearts and minds of our people. You wonder if freedom will continue for our children and grandchildren or if we will be a footnote in history, another people for whom comfort, security and a lack of personal responsibility led to decline and dissolution.
I have a secret to tell you. We outnumber those on the other side. Those who wish for freedom, less government, less taxes, less regulation and more prosperity are the majority. We have a voice that can be heard. But, only if we are willing to unite. United we stand and divided we fall. This has been true since the founding of our country.
Liberal Democrats and Progressives, which by the way are neither liberal or progressive, have succeeded in taking over the major institutions of education and the government bureaucracy. They are entrenched in the media, controlling much of what you see and hear. They tell us we are the minority. That we are the 1% who don't belong. They tell our children and the elderly that we don't care and don't love them. They say they know best and that only by listening to them can we have safety and security. They trot out boogie men to have us give up our liberty one tiny step at a time. The biggest victory they have is making us believe that we must divide to stand a chance.
This year we have a choice to make. We can either fall for what those on the other side of the argument want and divide over the minutia or we can unite over what we have in common. Entrenched in this country is a two party system. It has been this way for most of the last 150 years. Oh, I will grant that since that time we have had the occasional splinter group, but for the most part even these splinter groups were part of the one of the two major parties. No third party candidate has ever won the presidency, no matter which major party it split off from. It has only served to dilute the vote and have that sides candidate lose.
The Republican Party, is the one closest to our beliefs, but it is not perfect any more than the people who make it up are. However, they do have one advantage. They are in the game, they are on the playing field. They have the chance to make a difference, if we make them make a difference in our favor.
What do I mean by this? It is simple, change happens quickest and easiest from within, not without. You could go to the Super Bowl and be unhappy with both teams that are there. You could even start a game in the parking lot or another stadium with teams you choose. You might even garner some media coverage, but neither of those other teams will ever walk away with the trophy and the rings. Doctors know you cannot cure a malady from outside the body, but have to attack the problem from within. Amputation doesn't cure anything, so amputating your ideas from a party doesn't stop the problem, it just isolates and divides your power.
Find out who is running for Precinct Committeeman and Committeewoman in your precinct. Talk with them and see if they represent what you believe about government and what the Republican party should stand for. Or decide to run for the position yourself. Next, you elect your Republican precinct committeeman and committeewoman, based on the states rules. Those people represent you to the county Republican party and elect the County Chairman and the rest of the committee, usually from among the ranks of the Committeemen and women. Those Chairman and other representatives from your county (this is on a state by state rules basis) then represent you to the State Republican party. They elect the State Chairman and State Committeeman and Committeewoman who represent you to the National Committee. The members of the National Committee write and ratify the National party platform. So it all starts with you voicing your opinion to those at the county level and electing your precinct committeeman and committeewoman based on your beliefs about government. All politics is local politics in the end. You as a Republican can run for any of these positions or support and influence anyone in these positions.
Your chance in Wyoming is coming up during the Precinct Caucuses, here in Natrona County they happen on Feb 23, 2012 at 6:30pm at the Ag Learning and Resource Center. 2011 Fairgrounds Road in Casper. Simply be a registered Republican voter before that date.
This is the time and We are The People who can bring back our constitution and bill of rights. We are The People who will lower government's influence. No elected monarchy with its unelected bureaucratic baronies running our lives and ignoring our voices anymore. No more telling us what we can and cannot say in the name of political correctness. No more telling us how to worship or that we cannot worship. No more reaching ever deeper into our pockets to fund their lifestyle and power over us.
Become a Republican for freedom and make a change, we need you and we want you. Don't let the educational elites and news media divide us any longer. Let's make a difference and have a chance to win the trophy. Pick a candidate who will stand up for you and can cast a vision that will set the rest of the country on fire. Be a local candidate for change, since every level of government makes a difference in our lives. We want and need your ideas and your support. Only united will we stand.
